Balochistan, like the states of Nepal and Myanmar, had direct treaty relationships with Great Britain and as such was not eligible for accession to either of the Dominions. It was the treachery of Jinnah and the use of naked military force by Pakistan that forced an amalgamation of this state with Pakistan in 1948.
